If you're keen on exploring cities outside of the GTA this summer season, you'll definitely want to keep Doors Open Ontario on your radar. 

The annual program by the Ontario Heritage Trust grants you rare access to buildings and spaces that are typically closed to the public or sites that normally charge admission.

The 2023 season is set to be held over 13 weekends and feature 22 in-person events all across the province between April and October. 

This year, the Ontario Heritage Trust is exploring the province's food culture and history, and will give you access to explore breweries, farms, and other sites that highlight the region's culinary and agricultural heritage. 

Some of the confirmed sites include a Canadian Pacific Caboose in Guelph, a restored 1900s cotton factory in Hamilton, the Second-Empire George Brown House in Toronto, and a chocolate artisan shop in Woodstock. 

If you can't physically make it out to any of the in-person events, the trust is also providing hundreds of virtual experiences that you can explore online. 

Each in-person event takes place over a weekend and is always free of charge.
