Bruce LaBruce film leads to police raid in Melbourne


Toronto-based filmmaker Bruce LaBruce's film, LA Zombie, has led to a police raid in Melbourne. Banned by the Australian Classification Board in July, the film nevertheless aired at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival back in July, which brought the cops to festival director Richard Wolstencroft's home yesterday in search of the tape. Talk about speedy detective work...

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, "Wolstencroft said he told the detectives he never held a copy of the film, and that the festival's copy had been destroyed a week after it screened."

When asked why he thought the police were wanted the film, the festival directer replied, "Maybe something relating to zombie porn makes a great headline."
