Guillermo del Toro Hamilton

Famous film director tweets his love for Hamilton

When did Hamilton get so cool? For years we've been watching as the city transformed, but it recently got the stamp of approval from a film director famous for his fantasy and horror movies.

That's right, Guillermo del Toro, who's currently filming in Hamilton, tweeted out his admiration for the city yesterday. "Hamilton is full of promise and surprises: great bookstores, Antique shops, coffee shops, restaurants and art stores. Crimson Peak land," he wrote.

He also revealed some of the places he visited, including Cannon Coffee Co. for fluffy pancakes and Rapscallion Rogue Eatery for a meaty meal.

Three years ago, del Toro said he was a fan of the Sunset Grill (and its fried egg sandwiches) in the Beaches.

In about a year, you'll be able to share the love because the Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters exhibition opens at the AGO. You can start looking forward to September 2017 now.
