Amazon deliveries just got even faster in Ontario

Shortly after Amazon made it way easier for Canadians to make returns, the online retail giant has improved more services in select areas north of the border by adding expedited same-day delivery so you can get your packages in mere hours.

Prime members ordering in the GTA, southwestern Ontario or the Vancouver area will now have access to overnight delivery, which could mean as little as seven hours between making your purchases and receiving them.

Customers in these locales can select the new "overnight by 8 a.m" delivery if shopping for certain items before and up to midnight. The delivery windows available include 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. the following day.

Millions of basic staples labelled as "prime overnight" qualify for the expedited option as of Tuesday — but, keep in mind that it is not available for everything on the site, and will cost you if you are not a Prime member or if your order is under $25.

Applicable purchases under this threshold will be subject to a $6.99 fee for Prime members to get it to their door faster for last-minute gifts and necessities. Non-Prime members can access the service for $11.99.
