Peel Regional Police recently charged a Brampton man with several firearm-related offences while he was on a ten-year weapons prohibition order.

On Friday around 2:40 a.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a home in the area of Dixie Road and Clark Boulevard for a medical-related incident in Brampton.

While helping out Peel paramedics, police found three rifle-style shotguns in the residence.

Tyler Devarenne, 26, was subsequently arrested and charged with a long list of offences, including possession of a firearm (contrary to order), unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, tampering with serial number, and unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.

Police also charged the man with two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of careless use or storage.

Several firearms were seized during the search, including a Sig Sauer P320 9mm handgun, a .22 calibre Ranger rifle, a Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun, and a Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun.

The man was already bound by a ten-year weapons prohibition as a result of a previous aggravated assault.
