The Sorauren Pumpkin Parade

Where pumpkins go before they die

The Sorauren Pumpkin Parade takes place every year the day after Halloween, as area residents bring their jack o' lanterns (carved pumpkins and other gourds/vegetables) to the park and line them up around the pathways, lighting them for one last hurrah before the city collects them for compost the next morning. Thousands of pumpkins are brought each year, making for an impressive display of vegetable creativity.

Here's a collection of photos from this year's event.
