Your morning news roundup for Wednesday February 20th, 2008:

Firefighters continue to battle a massive six-alarm blaze that is razing shops and apartments in the Queen and Bathurst area this morning. Over 50 fire vehicles have joined the fight, but 14 addresses are involved, and at least one unit has collapsed. No serious injuries have been reported so far. Thanks to the many blogTO readers that have been sending us their photographs.

Gas prices shot up again, and now sit in the $1.06 - $1.10 range in and around the city. If it were $2.00/L would you drive as much as you do now? Find updated pricing online.

Don't jump on well covers. You may end up falling to the bottom of an 18-metre deep well and landing chest-deep in freezing cold water. An Ontario girl survived a harrowing experience with minor injuries. Rescuers are amazed by her strength.
