Your morning news roundup for Wednesday August 29th, 2007:

It's going to be a scorcher today. High temperature, humidity, and smog will make it feel like it's about 40oC. Let's pretend it's mid-summer for a day and try to forget that the summer is actually waning.

The Ontario Power Authority is set to reveal its 20-year electricity plan to regulators. The expectation is that prices will go up.

Power at Canada's Wonderland was down for a brief time yesterday, and while no one was left hanging upside-down, several rides did require what must have been somewhat harrowing emergency dismounts.

Illegal gambling dens in industrial malls in Mississauga were raided by police and several people were arrested. Incidentally, the world's largest casino just opened in Macau.

What did you want to be when you grew up? What occupation do you now actually hold? More than 80% of Canadians failed to follow their through on their childhood dreams of becoming astronauts, pilots, doctors, and rock stars. I should be digging for dinosaur bones right about now.
