In the wake of Rogers' buyout of CityTV, and prompt the removal of the CityTV sign, many Torontonians might be a little more curious than usual about media concentration. This isn't some abstract academic concept. More and more local media outlets are in the hands of a few large players, and this has serious implications for our information landscape. Fewer voices and fewer points of view adds up to less diversity.

Concerned about media concentration? The Canadian Media Guild is currently collecting comments and letters on this issue to forward to the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission. This is a great chance to tell Canada's national media regulator what you think about media concentration. But don't dawdle...today is the last day to submit your comments on the CMG website.
