Morning Brew: February 8th, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Thursday February 8th, 2007:

Sick Kids Hospital got it's largest ever gift - $30million from the Labatt family was graciously accepted and will be put to good use.

Are there a bunch of elderly Ontarians pretending to be over 100 years old? There's something fishy about stats related to disabled driver's parking permits and census data.

Karla Homolka (*shudder) is rumored to be married, and to have had a child. How one can go from sadistic murderer to white picket fence, innocent, suburban mom in just 12 years reminds me of how our justice system sometimes fails miserably.

The Toronto Raptors are on a tear, and Bosh netted 41 last night. Is playoff basketball in the cards? It's really starting to look that way.

One of the largest, most coordinated web attacks in history went down yesterday. I didn't notice a slowing (in the series of tubes that is the internets) either.
