Morning Brew: February 22nd, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Thursday February 22nd, 2007:

Ontario is pondering following the lead of Australia by banning incandescent light bulbs. Replacing them with energy efficient fluorescent bulbs is a bright idea, and the improved light quality of the new technologies makes them an attractive alternative.

Al Gore spoke at UofT in what was a really hot ticket event. The enviro-celebrity was met by adoring fans and supporters. If I were there, I would have worn my "Suzuki for President" t-shirt.

A 71-year old Ajax man put on a balaclava and held up a gas station at gunpoint. Is he not happy with his pension?

A Brampton woman was charged with aggravated assault and child abandonment after she "pulled a Michael Jackson" and dangled her baby from a balcony.

Question period at the House of Commons got ugly yesterday, with PM Harper getting shouted down. Would it be wrong for me to call him a weasel in the Morning Brew for a second time this week?

A CBC investigative report is telling us what we would have guessed - that Coffee Time is rather dirty.
