Morning Brew: February 20th, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Tuesday February 20th, 2007:

Two gunmen pulled off a violent armoured car heist in Roncesvalles and made away with an estimated $8000 - $60000 in cash. As if yesterday wasn't a bummer enough after the Revue marquee collapsed.

18 Ontario "deadbeat dads" made their debut on goodparentspay.com. Will shaming them make them pay what they owe in arrears? It'll be interesting to see if/how they update the public.

Mayor Miller appointee Brian Ashton is visiting London, England to learn more about road congestion taxes that may eventually be implemented here to help alleviate our mounting traffic and pollution problems in Toronto. Who's willing to pay $20 per day to enter the downtown core by car? I'd rather TTC it!

Heavy metal tuna may make for a kitschy name for a band but it's certainly not good for your health.

Stephen Lewis says that Bill Gates and PM Stephen Harper are expected to announce joint financing plans today to test a possible vaccine for HIV. Harper was too busy (being a weasel) to attend the conference in Toronto last year, but will look good when he's at the podium making this latest announcement.
