glowTO: Animated on Adelaide

When I think of Adelaide St West, the image that comes to mind is steely skyscrapers and old brick warehouse-turned-studios. Heading a little further west though, just past Bathurst lies a very different Adelaide.

There, it becomes a quiet little residential street, lined with old brick homes, dogs out for walks and, naturally, holiday decorations. Just past the Tecumseth crossroad, I found our 2nd glowTO home.

This is a tag team effort by 678 & 680 Adelaide St West.

Completely decked in exclusively blue & red bulbs, the lights crawl up from the ground, along the arches, and up to the second floor balcony. Out front a string of multicoloured LED's (perhaps picked up at the Hydro trade-in) were reserved for candy-cane style wrapping around their tree.

At the foot of the steps we've got a couple glowing candles and between them on the landing a huge polar bear with ol' St. Nick. The polar bear wasn't lit this evening, but it's adorned with bulbs, so I'm sure it will be soon enough.

Did I mention these folks have even got the LED house numbers going on?

My favourite part: The snowman/Frosty figure (pictured here) in the center of the balcony. He not only glows brightly but is animated, swinging back and forth on what appears to be a snowboard. Knarly.
