Morning Brew: June 1, 2006

Your morning news roundup for Thursday, June 1, 2006:

The Leafs sign a deal to keep Brian McCabe in Toronto, which may be the only good decision the Leafs have made in years.

Scarborough General Hospital faces a class-action lawsuit after a hepatitis outbreak.

Toronto hospitals begin stockpiling Tamiflu, bringing the threat of avian flu closer and closer to home.

The TTC Union puts its credibility in jeopardy by starting an attack ad campaign and threatening more strikes, leaving the public to be less sympathetic to even their most valid concerns. Not smart Mr. Kinnear.

Torontonians are left to wonder which is better, smog alerts or tornado alerts, after vicious storms slammed the city yesterday, grounding some planes at Pearson airport.
