Quintessentially Overhyped

Today's Globe Toronto gives us the goods on Quintessentially. The British-based superposh concierge service founded by Ben Elliot plans to open its first Canadian office in Toronto next month. Globe writer Leanne Delap thinks Quintessentially is going to be this year's Spoke Club. I don't see it.

At the end of the day, this is just a business that books things for high net worth individuals. It's basically a $4,500 personal assistant that you get to share with all the other members.

Jeff Mandell, the McGill grad behind bar-mitzvah party planners Mandell Entertainment, as well as Lobby and the Capitol and York Event Theatres, bought the rights to the Q in Canada. Personally, I would have rather seen the invasion of a different British styled service like Home James.
