Hands Everywhere!

Yesterday, I received an E-mail from the Toronto International Film Festival organizers saying my ticket order was declined because of insufficient funds on my credit card.

Wait. You mean, the film festival from 2005? Aren't you guys a few months too late?

Crazy panicky thoughts entered my head. Is it identity theft? Was someone trying to buy black market advance tickets at my expense to some new Atom Egoyan flick? I called the customer service number listed in the E-mail. The guy on the other end says, "Oh yeah, something happened with the system and every order that was pending got that message. Total knee-jerk reaction."

Very odd. So if there are any of you out there who were denied tickets because of poor credit last year and received such a message in your inbox, have no fear; no one has stolen your number and is buying out the Varsity on your behalf.
