Thanks to a decision in the early hours of this morning, Toronto's inside workers will stay on the job for at least two more days ahead of a Wednesday ratification vote on the city's latest contract offer. The Ford administration, still smarting from transit defeats, is already chalking the news up as a victory while the union says no deal has been reached, yet. The proposed new contract, which will be presented at the vote without recommendation, is similar to the one accepted by outside workers last month, providing a 6% pay rise at the cost of the "jobs-for-life" clause.

In other disgruntled employee news, striking library workers from CUPE Local 4948 staged a "read in" at their rally outside the Toronto Reference Library yesterday.
