TTC to move its headquarters

It looks like the TTC will, indeed, be moving its headquarters. Why? Why not! How much will it cost? Who knows! Well actually, we'll know in 30 to 45 days, according to TTC chair Adam Giambrone.

TTC commissioners voted five to four in favour of moving their headquarters from Davisville Station. The new headquarters will be at 4050 Yonge Street, at a building not yet constructed, on a lease not yet decided.

But Giambrone assured the Sun that the move will be at a net gain to taxpayers. He also said that the new building won't necessarily hold the new $5 million transit museum.

That's great if it's true, but one can be forgiven for being a bit skeptical when it comes to budgetary issues and the TTC. What do you think of the move? Is it a good idea? Or, more to the point, will it really offer a net gain to taxpayers?
