Your 'tis the season to be jolly morning news roundup for Friday December 21st, 2007:

Another suspected terrorist plotter has been granted bail. If he is a terror plotter, then we need to figure out how to fix our legal system to ensure that terror plotters aren't walking free amongst us. If he isn't a terror plotter then we need to fix our legal system so innocent people don't spend 2.5 years in jail.

Some punks in Thornhill decided it would be fun to dress in black and throw chunks of ice off a overpass and onto cars passing beneath. Having grown up in the 'burbs myself, I know things can get boring at times, but injuring people and causing damage to property isn't the way to spice things up.

Last night the occupants of two vehicles somehow ended up in a car chase that culminated in a gun battle on the Gardiner expressway. Police aren't sure if it was gang-related, but are working with forensics and hope to track down the suspects. It's like a real life version of a video game - GTA: GTA (Grand Theft Auto: Greater Toronto Area).

Shopping mall parking lots are a nightmare. CityTV has some tips on avoiding gun battles when you're trying to park your car to go shopping.

A St. Thomas man was sentenced to just 4 years after doing unspeakable sexual acts, live on the internet, to his 4-year old daughter. It's beleived to be "the first case of live child sexual abuse of its kind in Canada." So much for setting a legal precedence for appropriate punishment, eh?

In happier news, some kids got to fly to the north pole to meet Santa, and some monkeys harmonize well as they sing a cute banana boat song.
