Your morning news roundup for Tuesday August 7th, 2007:

"Free to a good home" is what you might expect to see written on a note attached to a slightly tattered couch on the curbside, or on a suburban utility pole following an unexpected litter of kittens. The city scored its 50th homicide this weekend - another young life is lost to the gun.

David Beckham sat out in the soccer game against the Toronto FC on Sunday, but the international celebrity heartthrob raised quite the paparazzi stir by attending the Jays game yesterday.

Crossroad Puzzle is on the road with Daft Punk and will return next week.
