It's emergency preparedness week all across Canada this week. Are you and your family ready to deal with flooding or power outages? How well stocked is your emergency kit? Admittedly, I'm at the full mercy of fate since my flashlight (which is the extent of my emergency kit) won't do much except allow me to better see the ensuing carnage around me.

A new proposal by councillor Nunziata to deal with the solicitation of prostitution eyes the threat of impounding of johns' cars as a potential deterrent. Wife: "Honey, can you bring the car around so I can load up the groceries?" Bad hubby: "Ummm... the car's still in the shop, Sweetie..."

An estimated 15,000 bud smokers convened on Queen's Park yesterday to celebrate their status as chronics, and peacefully protest the legal status of their beloved green. Unconfirmed reports also suggest that many nearby stores saw a related shortage of cookies.

An amazing 9-year old girl named Amanda ran her annual lemonade sale in NorthYork and managed to raise $17,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I've been practicing my skills by playing an oldskool classic, but I don't think I can come close to Amanda's total. Kudos!
