Hop On, Hop Off

Have you been on the Queen streetcar, leisurely looking out the window, and then find yourself craving Chippy's, or a quick drop-in at Rotate This? But you don't, because you just spent $2.50 on your ttc fare, so you stick it out and deny yourself a well-deserved treat...

Well now, the TTC is toying with the idea of "Hop On, Hop Off" transfers, that give you a 2 hour window to get on and off as you please. The TTC is drafting to start it on the St. Clair West line, and if all goes well it would branch out across the city. You can read more here.

I think this idea is long overdue. It'd be great to finally have the freedom to stroll around, and hop on/off within a decent time frame.

Although, I have to say, this leaves me scratching my head about the messy status of the TTC agenda: fares have gone up, there is talk of a strike, the streetcars roll on mysterious schedules, there are plasma-ish information screens (?!)at Yonge/Bloor and we are still groaning at breakdowns and rush hour nightmares. Is there a priority list anywhere? Maybe there should be.
